When we got there we went through the security and there was a lady there that took us on a tour of the school. In the picture, the building in the middle is the administration building and on top is the library and computer labs. The building on the Right is the 9-12 grades the building on the left is called "Primary Block" which has Kindergarten-4 grades in it. There are 3 more buildings behind these that have the cafeteria, the sports building, and the 5-8 grades. Because school is out for the summer, they had a lot of construction going on. They were painting and replacing ceiling fans. The classrooms were also all packed up, but the kids were able to see where the rooms will be. They were pretty excited. After the tour, the lady asked us if we wanted to have some lunch so we decided to eat lunch there. This is our 1st real experience with all Indian food meal. Ethan tried it and liked it, but about 5 minutes into eating he leaned over to me and said "Mom, my lips are burning!" Maddie's reaction was that by the time we sat down she didn't even want to drink the water. She's not too impressed and actually had a few tears in her eyes. I told her not to worry she didn't have to eat it, but that when school started she would have to eat the food they give her, but that they would have American food too. Unfortunately she's pretty picky about that too. Ellie tried everything, but wasn't too thrilled. It's pretty spicy!
After we left the school we went to get Alan to get our pictures taken. Apparently we needed more passport pictures and stamp pictures takes so that India can have them too. We had to get 30-40 passport pictures each. For 6 of us to get that many it only came to 480 rupees aka $10.00.
When we got done getting our pictures, we decided to walk down Brigade Road. This street has all of the different people trying to sell everything. The girls saw a jewelry cart and Maddie decided that she wanted to spend some of her birthday money. Ellie also got a necklace and a few bracelets and I did too. We decided to get something to eat and started walking again when a guy approached Alan to buy some drums. He told them no and he guy just kept following him. They don't give up. I think Ethan would make a great seller. He guy started asking Alan for 300 rupees for a drum and Alan kept telling him no. Finally Alan told him he'd buy one for 100 rupees, and they guy said no so Alan kept walking. The guy came back and said 120 rupees and Ethan was happy!
