Quotable Quote

So, I haven't updated for a little while, but I had to quickly write about Ethan's quotable quote today....o.k. so he had a couple.  I had gone grocery shopping and I was carrying the groceries in from the car and Ethan noticed that I bought Oxiclean.  "Mom, that stuff is wonderful!!" I replied "What do you mean?" He said, "You just put 1 scoop into every load, and it washes all the stains away! Then you don't have to throw the clothes away that you thought you did!"  This kid is my waking infomercial

Another fun week!

Ethan has started wrestling with the Olympus High School wrestlers. They have a fund raiser and the wrestlers coach the kids and they have 4 tournaments. Well...we have had 2 tournaments already, and next week we have 2 more. In each tournament, they kids all have 2 matches. In the 1st tournament 1st match Ethan wrestled against a kid from Highland who also had never wrestled. It was pretty fun to watch them both dance around and not touch each other. Finally, at the last second the other kid tackled Ethan and the match was over. Ethan didn't really understand what was going on and didn't know why he had lost...he didn't get pinned?!? Anyway, he was sad that he didn't get to keep the score card (the winner gets the scorecard). He wouldn't go out and wrestle the 2nd match because he was mad. The 2nd tournament went a little better...1st match Ethan wrestled against a kindergartner from Skyline that had wrestled last year. He immediately got knocked down, and he bounced his head off of the mat. In the process he lifted his leg and kneed the other kid...both kids were crying  (FUN FUN FUN) He wouldn't finish his match. Luckily Alan was able to come to this tournament and knew what to do. (I was getting frustrated) I went back to the bleachers with Ellie and Annie and then looked back and couldn't find Alan or Ethan. The tournament went on, and it was finally Ethan's turn again. I called Alan's cell phone and they were just walking back in the doors. Ethan went out and wrestled against another kindergartner and acted like he kind of knew what he was doing.  He actually pinned the kid and got to keep his scorecard!!! The whole way home he kept saying "Mom are you proud of me? Because I'm sooo proud of myself!"  Way to go Ethan! I love to watch you have fun, and I'm glad your having fun wrestling! (By the way...Alan had gone and bought him a chocolate donut...I guess a little chocolate is all anyone really needs)

Another fun thing we did this week is to go skiing. Again we took advantage of "Ski FREE after 3" at Alta. Alan had decided that he was going to take the 3 older kids and go. I really wanted to go to, but couldn't find a tender for Annie so....Annie went too.  I strapped her on front of me and our whole family went skiing. It was so fun to see how great of skiiers my kids are. Ellie took off and we didn't see her again until we were ready to go home, Maddie was a little slower getting started, but once she got a little confidence she did great, and Ethan...he went 90 mph straight down the hill and was sad when I made him stop and wait for Alan and Maddie. He is a maniac! Next Saturday is supposed to be great weather again...I hope Annie likes it!

Busy Week

This past week was pretty busy. Alan has been working non-stop and I've been chasing kids...you know our normal routine. Ethan had a preschool program this week, and Ellie had a piano recital.  Ethan's program was so cute it was all about our Country.  I posted some video if you want to watch it, but...it gets a little long (I tried to edit it a little and took out the other 20 minutes of the program.).  I also posted Ellie's piano recital. She is getting so good. She has a recital next weekend also...it's called Federation. It's a kind of competition. She goes infront of 3 judges and they rate her. She is hoping to earn a gold cup.
Also this weekend, Alan took Ellie and Maddie skiing. Ever since Alan learned about "Ski Free after 3" he has tried to take one of the kids every other week or so.  They love it and so does he. This weekend he braved taking more than 1 kid. They did great and next weekend he thinks he can take all 3. ( Hopefully they can get on and off the lift.)
