Ethan has had a few problems being potty-trained. Anyone who has tended him will agree. Well, I talked to his pediatrician a few weeks ago about it and he is convinced that Ethan needs more fiber in his diet. Anyway...he said to give him 3 plums/prunes everyday to see if it will help him. Ethan is having a really had time wanting to eat them. Tonight I put 1 on his dinner plate and he cried and cried. I put one also on Maddie and Ellie's plates too so he wouldn't feel like I was trying to be mean just to him. Ellie popped hers in and chewed, faking that she loved it. Maddie cried and cried also. I told Maddie and Ethan that they couldn't get down from the table until they had at least tried them. They both didn't want anything to do with it. Finally they had both eaten everything else on their plates and Maddie broke down and put it in her mouth, bit it once and spit it out on her plate. "Ew!! That tastes like RAISINS!!" You'd think raisins were toxic. She then got down and I told her to head to bed. It was 8:30 by this time.
This is when the battle of will began!!
Ethan started yelling at me and telling me he wasn't going to eat it. I would then tell him he was and he would say he wouldn't...you get my drift. Finally he said "I just want to go to bed." I told him "no, you need to try that plum" I went out of the room for a minute to put Annie to bed and when I came back this is how I found him.
OK, you win! You can go to bed without the plum!!

looks like you had a fun night. Will juice not work? Also my sister in-law eats those pruns that are individualy packed, she said they are like candy. You have probably seen the comercial for them. I dont know just an idea. Good luck!!
yeah, it was one of those, but they aren't the individually wrapped ones, they came in a bag all together from costco
What a mean mom! I can't believe you would make your kids eat something toxic!! J/K What are we ever going to do with our kids???
Try the kitchen timer. It works for my kids. I haven't had to figure out what to do when the timer goes off and they haven't eaten. The threat of the timer going off and them not done has sent the fear into them for some reason.....good luck! I am saving for India when you start saving for Florida ;)
This is so Classic!
We do something like this at our house too. It is called the no thank you bite. You can't tell me you don't like it if you don't try it. Good for you- sticking to your guns!
