When we got back from Kerala, the kids had to head straight to school, and Alan had to go back to work. Cleve, Annie and I decided to head down to the zoo with "little" Annie for the day. On our way there we passed a heard of camels walking down the road. I jokingly said to Vijay, "hey do you think they would give us a ride?" knowing he would get the joke. He flipped the car around and I was having deja vu of Katie and Tracy. I told him that they didn't really want to ride them, but that we wanted pictures of all of the camels walking down the road. Well, we got out of the car to take pictures and one thing let to another and..
While at the zoo we went on the grand safari and got the royal treatment as usual.
On the 8th Alan and Ethan took Cleve golfing.
When they got back we decided we wanted to go see City Market. We hadn't been there before, and it was really neat to see all of the people selling all of their fruits and vegetables, and color, and flowers. We only walked around 1 floor. I didn't realize that there was more.
We also walked along SP road where you can buy electronics for a little less. While walking along the streets here Cleve found his souvenier.
On the night of the 9th we boarded the night train to Hampi. Again we had a great time touring the temples, being blessed by Laxmi the elephant, and riding in the coricle boat.
We arrived back in Bangalore on the 11th. We relaxed and did a little grocery shopping this day. On the 12th we went and visited the slums and an orphanage. It was a great experience. I wish my kids could have been there with us, and I'm sure that I'll take them there someday. The kids were very cute and very excited to get a little t-shirt and toy. They sang a few songs for us and then we walked through the slums seeing how they live in these little makeshift tent houses with tarps for roofs.
On the 13th we visited Baby and Vijay's houses. While at Vijays house they gave him and his family a little bag with a few toys for the kids and things for Vijay and Lakshmi too. At the bottom of the bag were a few rubber lizards. When Vijay got to these he ran from the house like it was on fire. He is deathly afraid of our toy lizard and he wouldn't come back in the house until it was gone.
At Baby's house her kids and husband all sang for us. They also had a gift bag for her and her family. They were really excited to see everything inside.
That night Grandma and Grandpa packed up and were off. We had a lot of fun while they were here and I can't believe how fast the time went by.

After Cleve shook this little boys hand he started to complain to the other little kids and he was holding his hand limp. I'm pretty sure he was shocked at how strong Cleve's hands are. |
